{Resolution Tank & Bra} 5 out of 4 Designs

Ok, ok. As usual, for my New Year's Resolution I wanted to get back into shape and eating better again. Why does it have to be so hard? This next pattern that I tested really gave me some motivation...yes, I know that it sounds silly, but when I was wearing it for the first time I was moving around like I was on top of the world and no one could bring me down. Haha.

5 out of 4 Designs just released their Resolution Tank, and it is LOVE. It is loose fitting at the chest and flairs out a bit at the bottom to allow plenty of movement when working out...whatever method that you choose. The pattern also includes a bra...WHAT?!?! The perfect pair. You will be working out in STYLE!

The sizes range from XXS-3XL with the option of either a solid top or contrasting. I chose to make the solid because I had gotten a really pretty and super lightweight knit from Joann's in their Red Tag Clearance section that I knew would be just perfect for it. It sewed up very quickly, and the fit is just spot on. I am really digging the razorback style as well. Less clothing on your body therefore keeping you cooler when exercising.

Ok, now who is going to come and exercise with me now? Seriously though, I need a little more motivation! Leave me a comment letting me know what YOUR motivation is. Meanwhile, go grab a copy of the Resolution Bra & Tank for yourself. It is on sale for a few more days for only $7.95. It is definitely a must-have for your stash.

{Sunday Lately} Week 55

Hey guys! I am back with another addition of Sunday Lately...woohoo. I really love participating because it gives me a moment to stop and reflect on my week...the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything inbetween.

This week's themes: Completing, Visiting, Repeating, Writing, Scheduling.

Completing. Hubs smoked a pork loin on Friday night, and OMG was it amazing. He had to work late, so I did all the prep work by myself, including starting his fire! Good thing I pay attention to him when he grills so I know what he is doing. I cut the pork loin open as best as I could to lay it out flat, then I sauteed some onions, garlic and fresh spinach. I seasoned the inside of the meat and spread out the sauteed veggies across the whole thing and sprinkled with a little mozzarella cheese. I then carefully rolled it all back up, wrapped it in some bacon and tied it up with baker's twine to hold it together. It sure made a delicious meal, and there is plenty left over to eat off of this week! I am so glad that Jason is enjoying his iGrill Mini that I got for him for Christmas...I love that it graphs his temperatures as he is grilling. I definitely recommend it to any other pit masters out there!

Visiting. We got to spend a little bit of time with Nana this week during a surprise visit! We always love our visits from her no matter the time of day or length of stay. Ever since her and Pop-Pop moved about an hour away, we really value the time that we get to spend together.

Repeating. Another week of homeschooling under our belts. Let me tell you...these kids can be SO incredibly difficult some days and just perfect angels other days. I guess good vs. bad days all even the experience out in the end I suppose. Mackenzie decided to have to "school time" with Ruthie as well! Love those girls ;)

Writing. I posted my first blog entry of the 2016 earlier this week. If you haven't checked that out, you can find it HERE! I finished up some skinny jeans that were in testing from Winter Wear Designs...the SK8 Skinnies. Caleb absolutely loves them, and they are just adorable on him.

Scheduling. I pulled out my planner and calendars this week and got them all updated for events we have over the next few months. I have a Plum Paper Planner for my everyday, a wall calendar in my sewing room to write my blog tours and testing deadlines on, as well as a magnetic one on the fridge for Daddy to check and have a daily reminder out where everyone can see it. There is just something so satisfying about actually writing your plans down on paper and not having to solely rely on your brain to remind you. Am I the only one? I kind of made a New Year's Resolution to be more intentional in all aspects of my life, and writing things down and even making lists (for me) really help me to view priorities and get ahead of the game.

Thank you for stopping by and listening to my ramblings of the last week! Don't forget to check out the other bloggers that are participating this week and stay tuned for some fun things happening this coming week.

{SK8 Skinnies} by Winter Wear Designs

OH MY! Well, Happy New Year to everyone, and welcome back! I have taken a short hiatus from my blog the last month and spent some good INTENTIONAL quality time with family for the Holidays. I must say, it was amazing! I was able to do some much needed crafting with my kiddos, travel to visit extended family, and got a few things done around the house that were in need of attention.

But, now back to sewing! YAY!!!!!! I will be honest and say that I missed it. The first thing that I did was clean up my room and reorganize for my first project of the new year, which is.......the new SK8 Skinnies from Winter Wear Designs!!

So, whoever said that sewing for boys is not fun? I will be honest and say that I much more enjoy sewing for my boys than I do for my daughter. The little masculine details that you can add to everything make for some super handsome clothes. I was so excited to test and add the SK8 Skinnies to my stash considering how rough as boys are, you can never have enough jeans for them.

At first I wasn't too sure that my son would really like the skinnies, considering how tight they can be on your legs, but with the amount of stretch that is suggested in the pattern, they turned out perfect. He can still run around and play in them easily, which is a must! The pattern is available in sizes 18m-14y with the options of a fully functioning fly (wahoo!!!) or a faux fly. For my test pair, I opted for the fully functioning fly, but I think with my next pair I will make the faux fly as my son prefers an elastic waist for easy on and off. There are also instructions for adding button elastic in the waistband!

Let's talk about the pockets for a minute because the detail on the pocket of these jeans are super cool! The top of the back pockets feature a little peek of the wrong side of the fabric. Pair that with some super cool stitching, and you really have a pair of jeans that stand out among the rest! When trying to decide what design to stitch on the pockets, I turned to Pinterest of course. Ultimately I went with a fairly simple design, but I really love the way that they turned out. So, here are a few pins with some great inspiration for designs.

You can find the SK8 Skinnies on sale for $7 through the weekend, so no coupon needed!!!! Thank you so much for stopping by! What new projects do YOU have planned for the new year? Let me know in the comments.
