{Women's BundleUp Blog Tour}

It's's's FINALLY here! The latest Women's Bundle Up released today and all of these patterns are seriously awesome I tell ya'. What a great way to build your pattern stash for some sewing for YOU at such a great price. Pick one or all, but the more that you buy, the greater the discount.

I am so excited to be a part of the blog tour for the very first time. It's so much fun to hop around to everyone's blogs and look at what they have created from the same patterns. There are so many different body shapes and sizes, that you are sure to find something that will work to flatter your body type. Believe me, I was nervous at first, being plus size, but I am becoming more comfortable and confident in myself that I just decided to rock it out.

I was able to pick two patterns, so I decided to create an outfit using Winter Wear Designs "Real Deal" Jeans and EYMM Everyday Essentials. I really wanted to test myself here. I am constantly pushing myself to learn new sewing skills and sew more advanced patterns. Let me tell you, the "Real Deal" jeans certainly tested me, but you know what? I made it through, and fairly easily. Other than being pretty time consuming, they really were not that difficult, just new and different territory. I mean, a full functioning zipper, topstitching all seams, pockets and key pocket, belt loops...everything. All the details in this pattern really make it special and truly the "REAL DEAL".

I used a cotton broadcloth that I found at Joann's. Just the slightest bit of stretch make these the most comfortable (and best fitting) jeans that I now own. The pattern does not come with instructions for the cuff however. I started out making the capris, but apparently my legs are much shorter than I thought. At 5'10", you wouldn't think that my legs would be that short, but the 31" inseam that is standard on the pattern for the full length jeans, came down to my ankles for with the capri cut line. So, what did I do? Repurposed that length that I cut off and made cuffs ;) I used a 5" cut from the scrap for each leg to create the cuff. First I folded the wrong sides together, pressed, and sew it to the inside of each leg. At this point you can fold your cuff to the outside of your pants, and iron very well....and the seam is hidden. Optionally, you can tack your cuff down on each side if you choose, but mine stay in place pretty well for the time being.

The "Real Deal" jeans come in a huge range of sizes (00-24) and amazing tutorials for getting THE perfect fit for your body shape.

Onto the top! I chose the EYMM Everyday Essentials, not knowing at the time that it was actually a cami in the line drawings....ooops. Let's call it a happy accident ;) Obviously it makes a great top, not just a cami. Since I was making it as a top however, I decided to go with the option that allows more coverage in the chest area. The other option was for gathers inderneath each breast. Wouldn't that make the most comfortable sleep cami...OMG!

I used a Jersey Rayon Spandex knit and it really was the prefect choice for this as it is nice and drapey and super soft. I will be honest and admit that I have slept in it a few times too. My son actually asked me to make him a top out of it because it was so soft. It's a really quick sew with a few different finishing options that I love. Sizes are misses XS-XL and plus size 1X-5X and includes both maternity and nursing options as well.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that you are able to find something for yourself...or a few things ;) Head on over to the Bundle Up sale now. Don't forget to visit all the other bloggers as well!
