{Jam Jam Sleepwear} by Love Notions

I had the pleasure of working with Love Notions Sewing Patterns once again on this beautiful project. The Jam Jam Sleepwear quite possibly could be THE cutest pj's that my daughter has ever worn. Once she tried them on, she did not want to take them off. They are her go-to pj's now...when they are clean, she WILL be wearing them. The attention to the smallest of details on these is just amazing. Tami, you have outdone yourself again!

{About the Pattern}
  • Size 2T-14 years-- YAY for tween sizing!
  • Optional capris or shorts with a ruffled hem.
  • Cap sleeves, shirt tail hem, and gathered back yoke details really make this pattern.
  • Print your size only with layered template-- saves on ink!
  • Detail photographs with step by step instructions.
  • LIFE CHANGING video showing how to gather with clear elastic-- seriously the most amazing thing ever...I will never go back to gathering :)

My overall thoughts on this pattern, if you couldn't guess already, is that this is a MUST-HAVE! If you sew for girls that especially love the ruffles, this will be the perfect pj pattern for you. They will love the comfort on these and feel beautiful wearing them.

{Willow Wrap Dress} by Love Notions

I just finished testing the Willow Wrap Dress from Love Notions Sewing Patterns and I must say...WOW! This dress is seriously amazing.

I was way overdue for some new clothes (and mama sewing time), and this dress really fit the bill. It is amazingly comfortable and can be dressed up or down. Since the weather is cool right now, I have been pairing it with some leggings and boots for warmth....or even some flats on the warmer days here in Texas....and yes, today was 74 degrees here.

{About the Pattern}
  • Size XS-XXL--I was very thankful that she included plus sizing!
  • Three different sleeve length options
  • Two different skirt options--can you say PEPLUM!!!!!!!
  • Detailed photographs with step by step instructions
  • Flattering side ruching detail
  • High or low neckline
  • Optional modesty panel-- great for breastfeeding mother's
  • I would rate this as an advanced/confident beginner pattern. There are just a few pattern pieces and very easy assembly.

Overall, I feel that this dress can be flattering on anyone, including plus size like me! I feel fabulous in it. My husband even gave me a compliment on it (which is not something he is good

Right now you can get the Willow Wrap Dress for 15% with code "willow". You may also purchase the bundle, including both the dress and the top, for 25% off --no coupon needed.

I am excited to try this dress with some different fabric, as well as the shirt!

Thanks for stopping by.

{Photography Friday} P365 Weeks 1 & 2

Hello everyone! Ok, so how many of you have vowed to do project 365 before? Not sure what that is? It is where you take one picture a day for the whole year...yes YEAR! Now, it doesn't have to be anything super intricate or detailed, simply you just take one picture a day to document just that...your DAY.

Some people have a theme, others just take a picture of just anything.

So, this year I REALLY vow to get it right...get it done...let's do this! If you skip a day here and there that's fine...I mean life happens right? So far I have actually been able to capture one each day (or two the next day to catch up).

To keep myself accountable, I am going to start Photography Friday! A sewing friend of mine came up with the idea that inspired me. Go check her out at Peek A Boo Patterns...she has some great inspiration over there (and some awesome tutorials and patterns)!!!!

My goals for this year:
  • Improve my photography skills
  • Focus on getting clean crisp photos
  • Documenting my children
  • Getting my photos right IN camera, with less post processing
  • HAVING FUN!!!!
Do you want to play along too? Link your blog in the comments and I will give you a shout out next week!

So, without further adieu, here is my P365 days 1-16!!!

 1/365-- 1 of 2 (I couldn't choose)

1/365 -- 2 of 2

{Thumbs Up Tee} by OUSM Designs

I was super excited to test this pattern from OUSM Designs, a newer designer for PDF patterns. There are TONS of patterns out there for girls that are amazing, but it's a bit harder to find nearly as many for boys, so when I saw this I just KNEW that it would be a great addition to my two boys wardrobes!

The Thumbs Up Tee TOTALLY lived up to it's's a seriously amazing pattern that is great for both boys and girls.

My favorite part has to be the thumb holes....check those out...aren't they just too fun?!?!

And just look at that 'V' detail on the sleeves! It was a little tricky to get it to sit flat on the first shirt that I made, but by the second one it was easy peasy. (sorry for the sleeve being out of focus...I am still working on my photography skills)

My little guys just loved this tee. It also is GREAT for embellishing with an applique...the possibilities are ENDLESS!

About the pattern:
  • Size 12 months to 12 years --gotta love those bigger sizes for the tweens!
  • Optional thumb holes on the sleeve cuffs --and for visual learners, check out her VIDEO showing how to assemble!
  • Only 15 pages of pattern pieces making it a quick sew and easy on the ink ;)
  • Detailed instructions with beautiful illustrations of each step.
  • TONS of inspiration photos from all the testers!!!
  • I would consider this an intermediate beginner --the 'V' detail and thumb holes were a little tricky...even being an advanced sewer I learned some new tricks!!!

Overall thoughts:

It was a quick, easy and fun pattern to see come together! Endless possibilities. Very versatile. One thing that I do want to note is that this is definitely a slim fitting tee, making it easy to dress up or down!

If you want to purchase the Thumbs Up Tee head over to OUSM's shop HERE.You can purchase this pattern for $5 using code THUMBSUP at checkout through Sunday, January 17th! WOW...WHAT A DEAL!!!! While you are there, take a peek at all of their other awesome patterns. I am dying to try the Button Up Jumper for my daughter!
