{Love Notions Celebration Week} Tour--LBD & LDT Smash

Hey y'all! I am so excited to be here today! First of all...it has been FOREVER since I have posted on here, and I am so sorry. We started back into our home-school routine for the fall semester and have been at it...getting it done! I have been super thankful for that, however, my blog has suffered. I am here now though, so let's CELEBRATE!!!!

Love Notions is celebrating 10,000 fans over on her Facebook page, Love Notions Pattern Support Group....say WHAT?!?! Congratulations Tami! I am so incredibly happy for you, and getting the recognition that you deserve. If you have not tried one of her patterns, you NEED to. She puts so much LOVE into them...so much detail...and they are all such amazingly thought out pieces that will be an asset to ANY wardrobe! Ok, enough gushing...can you tell I love them...

For her SPECTACULAR CELEBRATION she has put together a tour of bloggers to share some patterns that are "smashed" or "hacked" to show even MORE versatility to her brand...and there is some amazing work to be shared this week, so make sure you check back each day! Today I am sharing my NEW all-time favorite pattern. I smashed the Laundry Day Tee and the La Bella Donna to make one of THE most comfortable and fastest sews that you will ever make.

To start out, you will want to print out, in your correct sizing, the Laundry Day Tee as well as the first four pages of the La Bella Donna pattern and assemble those according to the directions. After you have assembled those, go ahead and cut out the LBD (La Bella Donna). What you want to do now is place LBD on top of the Laundry Day Tee and match up the point where the neckline and shoulder seam meet on both patterns...making sure to keep your pattern straight along the center fold line (I placed my ruler there, as you can see, to keep everything straight and even).

What I actually did next was glue these pieces to each other. You may choose to trace them both onto a sheet of parchment or freezer paper and then smooth the lines out...whatever method works best for you! I did have to smooth out the curve a bit where they both met along the side seams, but that was an easy fix. One thing that I learned on this specific pattern, is to have grace with yourself....and go ahead and make a muslin FIRST especially since it is a "smash" and the patterns were not designed to fit exactly how we are are smashing them. So, don't use your best fabric first...ALWAYS make a muslin, and if it turns out great the first time, FANTASTIC.

I was extremely happy with how this "SMASH" turned out and I definitely plan on making many more of them....because, HELLO....fastest pattern EVER. TWO SEAMS. DONE! Yes, PLEASE! I also decided to add just a little flair to mine with the pocket, using the size 7 patch pocket from the Girls Summer Caye Pants ;) Yes...use what you HAVE...You're welcome!

Thank you so much for stopping by, and make sure to check out all the AMAZING things that Tami has planned over in the group. You will also find ALL of her single patterns on sale 50% off...no coupon needed!!!! Do yourself a favor and just grab them all ;) They are just amazing..and you won't be sorry <3

Love Notions would like to thank all of the amazing bloggers on the tour. Please be sure to stop by and see what awesomeness was created! And don't forget the guest bloggers participating each day on the Love Notions Blog!
