{Back to School Capsule} The One with the Planning

I cannot believe that I am doing this...am I really doing this...yes, I am doing this. Melissa over at Rebel & Malice recently approached me asking if I would like to be a part of her Time for School Capsule Blog Tour & Sewalong. As overwhelming as it seemed, I just couldn't resist. Call me crazy!!!!

What is a capsule wardrobe you ask? Well, let's ask Wikipedia.

So....yes, I will be creating a WHOLE WARDROBE for my child. I figured with three kiddos, I would be a good idea to just start with one child for now as to not overwhelm myself even though I am a bit overwhelmed as it is with just the one child. My middle guy has outgrown most of his wardrobe, so I decided to start with him (plus, my younger son will get his hand-me-downs in the coming years).

I started out sitting down with just a notepad and jotting down what patterns that I had that would make good capsule items.

Thankfully I had quite a few already, so there wasn't too much cost involved there...yay! I have picked up a few within the last week or so that just happened to be on sale, and I knew would make a great addition to the capsule. So, for the patterns (and there is a chance that some of this will change and evolve over time) I have:

Pants:
Metropolitan Pants by Terra's Treasures
Kudzu Cargo Pants by Willow & Co.
Cpt. Comfort Pants by Pattern for Pirates
Moto Maxx Pants by Love Notions
Coastal Craze Baggies by Peek a Boo Patterns

Tops:
Harvey V Neck by OUSM Designs
Lumberjack Shirt by Patterns for Pirates
Jolly Roger Raglan by Patterns for Pirates
Quad Tee by Addie K Designs
Moto Maxx Top by Love Notions

Layering:
Hawthorn Zip Up by Titchy Threads
Bookworm Blazer by Stitch Blue Designs
Dashing Vest by Love Notions
High Five Hoodie Peek a Boo Patterns
Great Outdoors Vest by Peek a Boo Patterns

I managed to get a swatch/color palette organized and I HOPE that I can manage all or most of this, but once again, it might evolve over time...and that is OKAY!!!!

And that is about as far as I have gotten so far. I am excited to get the ball rolling and see where this journey takes me!

    1. Thank you for the suggestion :) I like the Weller shirt....not sure if my son would wear any of the others right now though. He has some sensory issues and won't do jeans :/
