{Boys Mabel Madison} Tour

Duds for Dudes??? Well, of course! I love sewing for my little guys, and quite honestly I think that I sew for them more often than I do for my daughter.

In the non-sewers world, so many people seem to talk about how there are no cute clothes for boys out there. Thankfully IN the sewing world, there are a TON of totally awesome patterns out there for the little dudes!

I teamed up with Mabel Madison for the Dudes for Duds Blog tour showcasing some of their fabric for our look. They have a whole section to shop just for the boys. Let me tell you, I had a fun time shopping over there...so many amazing options for the boys! As I looked around on their site, I pulled together a few prints and created a "mood-board" of sorts to gather my ideas together, and here is what I came up with.

[from top to bottom]

When I received my fabrics in the mail it was LOVE! Oh the blues just coordinated perfectly, and the foxes are so buttery soft. I really am impressed with the quality of the Stenzo knits....it just doesn't compare to anything that I have ever ordered before and definitely not your typical flimsy jersey. Great weight, vibrant colors, and they wash up beautifully! I do want to mention that the twill that I received had some dye issues when I washed it up, but Emily was kind enough to replace it for me in a jiffy, however her magic carpet wasn't working so I was unable to get the pants that I had planned to sew up ready in time for this post. I will make sure to post on those as I get them completed!

The pattern that I chose for my son's top is the Harvey V-Neck! I tested this pattern last year, and it is just one of the fun tees that I can see myself coming back to over and over for it's versatility. It has been a few months since I have used this pattern, so I figured that it was a great opportunity to pull it out again. I had to reprint because my big guy had gone up 2 sizes since last year! Oh gosh how he has grown. I think that he will fit into this one for quite a bit now though. I have the most fun playing with colors and putting together fabrics that you wouldn't normally think to coordinate and this pattern is great for doing just that with the color-blocking options that it has. My son just loves the foxes, so of course I had to showcase those on the main tee!

Ok, and now since I couldn't stop taking pics of my handsome fella, here is a photobomb for ya!!!!

I highly recommend that you head on over and check out the other stops along the way this week! Such fun inspiration for great quality fabrics!!!! Thank you for stopping by :)

Mabel Madison is really thrilled to host a week-long blog tour focused on sewing for BOYS! Every day this week, you'll have a chance to visit with a few of our friends and see what they have made for their boys. Here are today's stops:
