{Laundry Day Tee} by Love Notions

Well, the Laundry Day Tee has been out for almost a month now, but people are STILL raving about it! Yes, it is really that awesome, trust me. You can find it on sale for only $4.00 right now, which is an AMAZING deal. If you would like an even better deal ;) , head on over to Love Notions Pattern Support for an extra special coupon code.

The LDT comes in sizes XS-XXXL with both a scoop or v neck option, as well as 3 sleeve lengths and tunic length! About a months ago the weather here in TX was still super hot, so I opted for the short sleeve. However, now it is starting to cool off a little, with highs in the mid 70's to low 80's (yes that is "cooled off" for Texas lol), so I decided I needed a 3/4 length sleeve. I think that is my favorite sleeve length by far, and plan to make a few of these for my Capsule this year. Here is a quick pic of my 3/4 length version.

When I first made the tee, I was worried about the fit, but that is typical for me since my proportions are so different. As usual, with all of Tami's patterns, it fit me great! I did make the tunic length because I have a freakishly long torso, which was a great length for me.

I do want to talk just a minute about fabric choices. You will want a nice drapey knit for this pattern. That is what will make it lay nice and flattering for just about any body shape. If you use something a bit thicker with less drape, it would be wise to take a little off the width of the flair so that it doesn't make you look like you are wearing the tent. If in doubt, always make a muslin.

I am a big advocate for self sewing and dressing yourself with patterns that REALLY fit you! For so many years, I wore clothes that did NOT fit me, but before I started sewing for myself, I had no other choice. It really makes a huge difference in the flattering appearance of my clothing, as well as giving me much more confidence because not only are my clothes flattering, but they also feel great on!

Thank you for stopping by, and if you love the LDT as much as I do, make sure to check out what other patterns that Love Notions has to offer. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

  1. Your LDTs look great. Very good advice on why the proper fabric is so important, and of course, the best reason to sew: being able to have clothes that fit YOU. Every body is unique and each of us has to figure out just what works for you and makes you look and feel your abso-best!

  4. Thank you. I've made one, and have three more cut out! First one was with Lillestoff cotton/spandex. Doesn't have as much swing as the ITY knit that I cut out. So yes, fabric choice is important.

    1. It really does. Some patterns it doesn't show as much, but this one is really important to stick to recommendations.

  6. This looks great! You are right about using the right fabric. I have made tent-like shirts before and they do not get worn :) It is a really flattering style and a great wardrobe basic. I haven't tried Tami's patterns yet, but I might have to go check out what else she has now!
