{Sunday Lately} Week 40

Hey guys! So, a super sweet and talented sewing buddy of mine, Katy, has a blog series that she a few others started a while back. Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup where you just post about what you have been up to that week. They even give you a theme for each week...SCORE!!!! I have really been loving to read everyone's posts for a while now, and finally decided to jump in as well.

Sunday Lately with Katy, Nicole and Meghan.

Today's theme is Completing, Visiting, Repeating, Applauding, Scheduling.

Completing. If you frequent my blog, you know that I have been working on a HUGE project. I finally completed my son's Time {for school} Wardrobe Capsule, and let me tell you...that was a huge sigh of relief. I really enjoyed the process, but was also glad to be done. Also, my son was really excited to finally get to actually wear his clothes!

Visiting. On Thursday we visited Nana and Pop-Pop's house. They are going out of town and while they are gone, we are going to take care of their chickens! The kids love to play with the chickens and are such great helpers, so we are really looking forward to staying out there for a few days. I ended up taking some of our school out there to work on as well. They live more out in the country, so at night you can see a TON of stars!

Repeating. Over the past few weeks, I have been really struggling with the mundane routine of life. Wake up. Eat breakfast. Do school. Eat lunch. Daily chores. Sew. Eat dinner. Bedtime. Nothing too exciting...which can be good or bad depending. The kiddos are all so strong-willed, so they seem to always be fighting. AND THEN....you find them like this and your heart melts. It kind of makes it all worth it, right?!?

Applauding. Two words. Button. Holes. Those of you that sew, I am sure know what I am talking about. They sure can be a pain, but gosh...the end result is just beautiful. Every now and then my machine decides to stop too soon and not finish completely, so I have to go back and free hand to fill it in. I really applauded myself on this project! It is not the quickest sew, but the extra time that it takes you makes it all worth it. I mean look at that stylin' shirt! This is the Lumberjack Shirt from Patterns for Pirates that I made for my son's capsule.

Scheduling. It was a new month, so my planner got a bit more love! I have been so lax lately with using it, but October is just a super busy month, so I knew that is something that NEEDED to happen. And check out that pouch. OOH LA LA!!!! It was a pattern that I tested for and it is just AMAZING!!! Rabbit Rabbit Creations, Planner Pouch. I will have a review up for it soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I will see you around next week!!!

  1. You are so awesome and I am so grateful for you doing the capsule tour. That shirt looks amazing and I completely understand the constant bickering and they melt us every once in a while. Sigh!

  2. Thanks girl! I really had fun, and it gave me the shove that I needed. I hope I didn't come of as complaining about it at any point. If I did, I apologize. It was a great week regardless :)
